A bright future beckons

Lorien Engineering Solutions, headquartered in Burton on Trent, has just announced its highest grossing year to date in its 28-year history, and is also now serving its largest ever customer base across the food and drink, brewing, life sciences and sustainable energy sectors.

The firm has also enjoyed significant international expansion, having relocated its Poland office to larger, more modern premises in the south western city of Wroclaw, and undertaken assignments on behalf of clients in Russia, India and China.

Closer to home, Lorien has opened regional offices in Manchester and London and launched the Lorien Energy Index, which tracks industry energy prices for businesses, allowing them to make sense of their energy use and look at how they can invest to make savings in the future.

2012 also saw the launch of the firm’s Carboneering® approach, which sees Lorien's project teams work directly with organisations to address carbon and utility reduction, sustainability targets and the overall energy cost base of their business.

If 2012 was a year of innovation for Lorien, it also marked a period of continued investment in people, both in the UK and Poland. During the last year, the total workforce has grown significantly, with further recruitment of professional engineers and project managers planned in 2013.

Commenting on the landmark year, Lorien’s managing director Steve Slater said: “What we’ve learned through the years is that businesses can’t afford to stand still. It’s an on-going process of constant innovation, looking at ways to do things better and working ever more closely with our clients.

“We reaped the rewards during 2012 and we are confident that 2013 will prove just as successful, but we won’t be resting on our laurels. We will continue to invest in top quality people, so that we can continue to best serve our growing portfolio of customers.”
