Background
The Lorien Engineering Solutions business was originally formed as Integrated Engineering Projects Limited (IEP) in 1985 from the Allied Breweries engineering and projects department. IEP was an independent company based at the heart of UK brewing in Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire. IEP merged with a Lichfield-based business consultancy in 1989, and in 1997 the company was re-branded as Lorien Engineering Solutions shortly after being acquired by Lorien Group.
Traditionally associated with the brewing industry and located in the centre of UK brewing at Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire, the company moved 10 miles to the outskirts of Lichfield in 1992, returning to Burton in early 2011.
The company remains very much at the centre of the brewing world, but these days operations in the food, life sciences and sustainability sectors take equal prominence. The business has always undertaken an element of international work, however from 2007 onwards our international activities have become a very significant feature of the business, and today this accounts for around 40% of our total turnover.
In order to further develop our international presence, in 2009 we established an office in Wroclaw to satisfy the domestic market in Poland, and to also act as a regional hub for our operations in Central and Eastern Europe.
A friendly and professional culture has remained with the business from our early brewing days right through to today. Our people lead innovation within our industrial sectors..
